pattycdc_143 - SubtitlerThe path to getting into NSSA is very hard, but also very rewarding. Before applying to take the admission test, I did a lot of training and I worked with the most expert moderators of my language with the humility that you need to have to face this journey. Don't be afraid of the length of the it because it will help you train. Fighting!!!
louanne_b80_50 - SubtitlerI had a great time!
My Senseis were all very kind and attentive. They took the time to answer my questions and told me what I needed to improve. Translating has become easier and faster. Now I even get proposals for projects to translate!
(Plus you even get a nice certificate at the end!)
I'd like to thank them for everything they do and keep up the great work.
worthyromance - SegmenterNSSA has helped me to understand what is possible for the segmenting team. As a Chief editor, I do not ask for impossible segments or delete their hard work. I truly appreciate how difficult and time-consuming it is to segment each part and episode. Our segmenters provide the proper foundation for subtitles. Without them, viewers could not understand the subs clearly. Other Asian drama websites often lack this vital skill, and it actually shows in the quality of subs. One of the best skills that I learned on Viki is how to segment.
swk_367 - SegmenterWhat better way to watch East Asian drama, make new friends, learn a new language, win prizes and learn a new technical skill from an empathetic Sensei than with Viki’s NSSA? With NSSA you are more than a segmenter or a subtitler, you are part of this super dedicated, talented, friendly global community who love Asian dramas just like you! It is my 8th year now and I love volunteering with Viki and continue my learning with NSSA.
addictedtobooks - Segging SenseiMy journey in NSSA academy started because I was curious about the segging. It seemed quite interesting and fun. The academy proved me right. All the Senseis are very helpful and ready to answer all the questions a student might have going from one level to another. I got so many tips from them and I'm forever thankful for that. After much thought, I decided to be a Sensei myself helping more people discover the wonderful world of segging. I'm looking forward to meet new students!
simonadeluca_54 - Subbing SenseiI graduated as NSSA segmenter in 2016. I loved each and every step as I met wonderful people from all over the world.
They were so kind and patient, explaining to me all the rules I didn't know. They patiently corrected me and teached me how to solve problems or issues on segments.
What I appreciated most was that so many people, from different nations, so far away one from another, were so happy to offer their time to others.
My experience in NSSA was so wonderful that I contacted the Italian volunteers that already translate from English into our language to create together the Italian Subbing Academy that still didn't existed.
We made it and now, we proudly are helping Italian rookies, following NSSA rules, to create subs in Italian.
Here is the video I made then, to demonstrate my deep appreciation:

kkikikaa - Subbing Jr. SenseiI am KkikikaA and I am a Segmenter and a Sensei of the Italian NSSA.
These paths have allowed me to understand the work behind a good drama and now I can follow the projects that entrust me with awareness in every aspect. I also got to know many people with my same passion and every day is a "give and take" of information, culture and lots of laughter!
maria_lavendula_77 - Segging Sensei
One thing I really like about the segging community is that everyone welcomes a newly graduated student from NSSA. I know seggers from all over the world and have been lucky to work with some of my previous sensei, my dream is to give back and one day give my students the same chance. I wish that more people goes through NSSA and gets the same experience and joy.
oceansunshine22_957 - SegmenterWhen I first became interested in being involved in the Viki community, I knew nothing about the work that goes into the segmenting and subtitling process. The more I learned, the more I wanted to try it for myself! The NSSA segging senseis encouraged me while gently correcting my mistakes, and I became proficient at segmenting thanks to them.
ruxandra_hamos_965 - SubtitlerI am Ruxandra Hamos, a passionate Romanian subtitle enthusiast who graduated from the RSA in October 2023. The academy's leader was very welcoming and professional. He created a supportive and motivating learning environment. I am grateful for the experience and highly recommend this program to anyone aspiring to make their mark as contributor to subtitling.
hapgood - SegmenterTwo words, patience and care! I took longer than expected to graduate, but my sensei was so understanding and caring! They created extra forms so I could understand the content clearly! Each sensei believed in my abilities even when I couldn't at the time. Thank you so much to every sensei for this valuable experience and welcoming me into the family!
